It's no secret that leaving something secure, like a job, can be a daunting and scary prospect. It's easy to get comfortable in a routine, even if that routine no longer brings us joy or purpose. But what if I told you that walking away from something familiar could be the best decision you ever make? As someone who recently left a secure job at Amazon Web Services, I want to share my experience and offer some advice for anyone considering taking the leap.
1. Recognize that it’s just a fear

But fear can also be a paralyzing force that keeps us stuck in situations that no longer serve us. Remember that fear is just an emotion, and it can be overcome with courage and determination.
2. Identify your support system for encouragement
Next, surround yourself with a supportive network of friends
I was truly amazed by the overwhelming kindness that people showered upon me when I announced my departure from Amazon Web Services. But what truly touched my heart was the continuous stream of messages and connections during my time off. It made me realize the profound importance of how we make others feel, which surpasses anything we deliver or accomplish for them. The genuine and sincere connections I have formed with remarkable individuals have proven to be more rewarding than any other achievement in my career. These incredible people continued to reach out to me, showing genuine care and support. To them, I am not just another weak LinkedIn connection - we have a deep and meaningful relationship. I am forever grateful for their unwavering support and the personal experiences we have shared.

6. Create a lose routine
While it's important to have a plan and stay focused on your goals, it's also crucial to allow yourself some flexibility and spontaneity. Create a loose routine that works for you, but don't feel like you have to stick to a rigid schedule. Allow yourself to explore new opportunities and take on unexpected challenges.
7. Look ahead
Finally, keep your eyes firmly fixed on the future and all the possibilities that lie ahead. Remember that walking away from something secure can be scary, but it can also be the catalyst for growth and personal development.
