Fear of Self
The fashion designer, Esther Perbandt said, "I am getting so tired with making myself small." Once she became aware that she was doing this, she found a new freedom. To go big and not restrain... is to find a new level of opportunity, as it has been for me.
The culture of the United States remains in an Industrial Revolution mindset...."Do what you are asked to do and don't get outside the lines." My generation and gender have been given strict guidelines. My birth order and region from which I was raised, holds me. So, what is an artist to do when what they see, discourages them?
Always know that to see yourself in a True light is freedom. It is not fear or punishment. Yes, it can be scary and sometimes weird, but it is a necessary step in our path. There is a path for each of us - not the same path - not a prescribed path - but a path that requires we each "walk it out." The path is made by walking out the journey. And the journey is the success. When I finally am face to face with myself after having walked a path, my True self will shine.
We need ideas. We need your ideas. Failures are the tool that carves out the path. And when we see you fail and use your energy to either recover or retreat - we take note. We decide if your journey is working and if we can use parts of your tool to carve out our own way.
And this...is what fashions you...a becoming of your True self. To fear it is to fear greatness, peace, opportunity, gift, and support. To fear your self is to deny seeing - and to deny us from seeing too. Take a step...fail...recover....or maybe, fly.
