Fear is the only root for every thriving industry. Every fear we have is being managed as a domain and transformed into an industry. Fear in a sense has been “Business-e-fied” or “Monetized”. “Ye dar ka dhanda karte hain” does this line from the movie “PK” ring a bell?
The cosmetic industry grows because people fear ageing or not looking good. The fear of boredom helped the entertainment business grow and it includes mobiles, cinemas, TVs and Internet. Fear of falling sick and not recovering gave raise to preventive pharmaceutical industry.
Further, if any advertisement is analyzed, you will notice that each and every subject in the advertisement in someway instigates the fear in our mind. The only solution to manage that fear is by buying the product that is being advertised.
Likewise, every industry or product we have is born from the need or our Fear. Like they say, “Necessity is the mother of all inventions”, Fear created the necessity and inventions were made.
