Fear Not...

Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Fear seems to be an appropriate response during a time like this. It is a natural reaction that every human experiences at some point in their life. When fear strikes, it stands on instability. Unstable ground that leaves us feeling vulnerable.
But is this an appropriate response for us as business leaders, parents, or as friends?
Our response to fear can spread into our circles of influence. It can continue to breakdown the emotional sanctuaries of others, or it can stand as a beacon of hope to who need something stable.
If you take some time to think about what stands opposite to the instability of fear, is the stability of faith.
Faith: complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
Faith is proactive. Faith is not a natural response as it requires us to move in the opposite direction of what we see. Fear is a reaction to the loss of control as Faith is proactive to giving control over.
We see countless times in the Bible where leaders were tested in the face of fear, but responded in faith. Leaders as that of Moses, Joshua, David, and many others. I encourage you to read their stories and study their responses when tempted to fear. Also, how they kept nations together because of their faith in Gods provision.
As much uncertainty lies ahead for our businesses, families, and country, I am praying that we respond in faith. Respond by giving control over to the One who puts kings and nations into power, who put the stars in their place, and who lovingly created us in His image to walk by faith, not by sight.

4 年As my brother Doug stayed to all of us: Celebrate even the smallest victories. 8 is the number for New Beginnings. I put these 8 thoughts together for us all….. send them to your other loved ones and friends when they need a lift me up…. 1-Celebrate even the smallest Victories. 2-Keep believing in hope for the future. 3-Never, ever, ever give up. 4-Realize that you still have it good, compared to others in the world who are truly suffering. 5-Make time to share love with others. 6-Share the “good” reports. 7-Stay positive. 8-Stay united.
