The Fear of Judgement

One of the key drivers for stress with female executives and leaders, is FEAR. Fear of failure, fear of judgement, fear of rejection, fear of taking risks, fear of asking for a pay rise and fear of seeming over-confident. And yet, according to KPMG - KPMG_Womens_Leadership_Study.pdf, by taking more risks they have a higher likelihood of success, if they take bigger risks. Not only that, but it has also helped them to become even more confident in their own abilities.

One key fear is fear of being judged and yet, being judged is ultimately a fact of life. Everywhere we go, everything we do, everything we wear, everything we say, everything we eat and drink, everything we listen to, everything we read, and the list goes on.

Now why is this such a big problem? It ultimately holds us back; it stops us from being seen or heard, it stops us from standing out and showing up and being the role model and leader that we truly are.

So, what should be doing instead? Firstly, you need to create a level of acceptance with yourself, that judgement is a fact of life. Nothing will change that. However, you can change your mindset, surrounding that reality. By accepting judgement as a fact of life, it will enable you to step forwards and stop using it as an obstacle to grow in your career.

Sammy - One Drop Bliindell

This weekend, I had the pleasure of being surrounded by females, who have overcome this fear of judgement and as a result they have gone from zero £ businesses to 8 zero £ businesses. Every day they are making an impact, not just on their own lives, but other lives too. Sammy Garrity, The Brand Catalyst - is a fantastic example.

As well as that, there were other exceptional female leaders ( Lisa Phillips ), who I am proud to have been on the same journey with, who have overcome judgement and are proudly standing on stages as international professional speakers and creating exceptional businesses, as coaches, trainers, authors, mentors, thought-leaders etc..

Each and every person, female or not, who were part of the Public Speaking Academy Awards Gala this Sunday, have faced their fears and realised their own true potential and won awards, including Vicky Hugelier . Many doubted that others would listen to them, didn't like the sound of their voice, didn't want to stand on a stage and be looked at, thought they couldn't create a coaching or training programme that others would want to use. And yet, in less than a year, they have not only learnt to speak on an international platform, they have also created their own successful businesses, written best-selling books, won awards for best speaker, best new-comer and best personal story.

Seeing all these amazing women, winning awards, because they are achieving their goals and making an impact, gave me nothing but joy and happiness.

Now why do I write this, because it is my goal to see the light shine in the eyes of just one exceptional female every day and to inspire other Female Executives and Leaders to BounceBack from Burn-out and Imposter Syndrome, inspire them to have a voice, inspire them to show their true exceptional voice, inspire them to truly rediscover their WHY!! Stand up and be counted with their unique stamp on this world.

Deenita Pattni is another example, as to why it is so important to stand-up and be counted. Dee has played a key role in inspiring me and help me to shine. If Dee, hadn't learnt from her own experiences and created her own social media programmes, I and others, would have lost out too.

The question is, are you prepared to stand out and show how exceptional you are? So, how can you start? Click on the link to book a discovery call with me, to rediscover your WHY, https://calendly.com/keely-woolley/45-min-free-discovery-call
