Fear
Fear is real. The bridge pictured above is long and it spans 696 in Farmington Hills, MI. You can imagine the sound of semi-trucks and speeding cars beneath his feet, with the whirling wind and the honking horns. My Max is scared, you can see it in his hands, curled up and pointing backwards. Its okay big man, you can do it!
Fear is real. Fear is real for us everyday in our personal and business lives. For some, the fear of failure drives and motivates. For others it paralyzes, unable to have crucial conversations, unwilling to do anything to get noticed for fear they will be mocked, or make a mistake. Afraid to take chances, too fearful to be uncomfortable. Afraid of no, afraid of yes.
What are we afraid of?
My point..screw it. Don't be afraid. Don't sit on the sidelines, make recommendations, take some chances, make your company better, be brave, teach those who follow you and look up to you to recognized fear and to plow through it. You/we are capable of much more. Only you and your fears are holding you back. Go get it, be more, be the best you can be. If you fail, so what. At least you didn't give in to fear.
My Max made it half-way over the bridge and came sprinting back. He's three, but he's learning.
Have a great day!!
