Fear

When we are in uncertain times Fear is a natural reaction. Right now the whole world is in uncertainty.
Fear is a response we need when we are in immediate danger. Like if you stand facing a wild animal in the forest. Then you have a few seconds to decide are you going to freeze, run or fight.
In this Covid-19 situation however we do not need to run, freeze or fight. But we do need to respond with the following steps.
1. Face the fear
The period of social distancing will be followed by an economic crisis.Think about how it will affect you.
2. Put it in perspective
Have you been in worse circumstances before? Has humanity been in worse circumstances? I think so. Many people in this world live hand to mouth. They have no social security, no health insurance and no guaranties. None of us have a guarantee we will see tomorrow. If we have health we are blessed.
3. Be grateful
Gratefulness helps combating fear. List the things you are grateful for. If you are losing your job or your business it is hard. Still you have the experiences, the connections and the knowledge. That can not be taken away from you.
4. Leverage
How can you position your self so you can bring value to your clients and society during and after the pandemic. Make your plan and your strategy forwards.
5. Take action
Take action. Start working on your plan and your strategy. And take one step at the time. If you need to reinvent your business, then do so, and put in the work and the hours needed.
We can’t avoid fear, it is a natural response. But we have to face it, evolve and move forwards.
And have faith.

4 年there are 4 primary emotions. Fear is one of them. Nothing wrong with fear as a primary emotion, what we do with it is the problem. Our reaction is what is damaging us or ''keeps us on our feet'' / drives our creativity. Going back to the mindset and our approach to obstacles that come our way, seeing them as problems or opportunities. Fear keeps us afloat if we want to, or will make us sink.

4 年Fear and I are old friends. Instead of letting fear drive me, I practice self-love and tell myself what I would want my protector to whisper in my ear.
