Fear Response
For optimal performance the ability to register the appropriate amount of fear is largely due to control of the active amygdala scale. This allows us to manage our physiological response in a appropriate way.
Fear response can be unconscious and automatic, courage is a choice.
Your goal should define the perimeters of the task. If you constantly think about easier options available, subconsciously you are searching for respite. Set a goal, itemize every step required to get there and simply go from one to the next. Focus on each step and not the number of steps needed to reach your goal.
Have a clear mission with clarified objectives and a direction to achieve them that is feasible.
