Fear
Fear! I've always felt that it's a relative term depending on the person and the situation. During a tour of the Grand Canyon years ago, I took a photo of a couple who did not appear to be afraid of dangling their legs over the edge of the rocks despite an average depth of 1 mile to the bottom of the canyon. Would you do this? Not I.... rather than pass judgment on someone else because of an unnecessary risk, in my opinion, I decided to look at fear differently because it can be a great motivator. On the other hand, there are some people who just see themselves winning without dwelling on failure. Asking three questions can prepare you for the outcome:
1. What's the worst thing that could happen?
2. How will I respond if the worst-case scenario happens?
3. What happens if I do nothing?
Do you feel stuck in your current job? Is there a promotion that you deserve?
Is there a career move that you want to make yet for some reasons you never try? Ask yourself the three questions, and "Just Do It."
