FEA of Facade Structure for Tehran Commercial Center

Wind induced pressure and shear, would be important concern for designing of high buildings, specially those that use Glass as Exterior.

Two major structures used for this type of facades, Spider Glass and Curtain Wall both are very sensitive to wind forces and shall be designed and evaluated specially for each building.

In this project for a client in Tehran, after determining maximum wind forces in separate CFD simulation, comprehensive FEA analysis was applied for different parts of facades and finally some modifications were proposed to tolerate maximum wind forces of that region. ANSYS-FLUENT and ANSYS-Mechanical were used for Flow and Structural Analysis.
