FCC Environmental Services Acquires Gel Recycling
On June 1, 2024, FCC Environmental Services, a prominent waste management and recycling company based in Houston, Texas, took a significant step towards a more sustainable future by acquiring one of Central Florida’s largest Recyclable Processors, Gel Recycling Holdings. Gel Recycling operates a total of four facilities located in Orange City, Daytona Beach, DeLand and Jacksonville, and is the largest municipal processor in central Florida with multiple contracts in Florida.
?
This strategic move includes adding three recycling facilities and a Construction & Demolition Debris Landfill to FCC's Florida operations. The acquisition not only strengthens FCC's presence in the recycling industry in Florida but increases potential synergies that will be achieved through its multiple collection contracts in the central Florida Market. Additionally, this acquisition will further increase FCC’s relationships with existing customers looking to purchase recycled materials from the Florida Market

In a statement, the Head of Acquisitions of FCC Environmental Services, Juan Gorriti, stated, “I believe the integration will be a great move for FCC and Gel Recycling, as we merge two companies with an exceptional quality of service, with a large market presence in the hauling and post collection lines of business. The synergies will allow FCC to further solidify its market presence, placing FCC within the top service providers within the State of Florida.”
?
Furthermore, FCC will incorporate 120 employees and 4 new locations in Florida. Dan Brazil, CEO of FCC Environmental Services, has expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition and warmly welcomed the integrated employees. He has emphasized FCC's commitment to creating an exceptional workplace for its employees, supporting local communities, and fostering strong partnerships with customers and stakeholders in the solid waste industry.
