The latest update from the FBR's campaign against non filers is that around 7000 taxpayers have filed their tax returns and reactivate their mobile sims which were previously blocked by FBR
On April 30th, 2024 FBR has released a comprehensive list of 506,671 individuals who failed to file their tax return for tax year 2024 and blocked their mobile sims as a penalty, but telecom companies didn't executed the order causing delay to its implementation and made consumer protection laws in the country an excuse.
Afterwards telecom companies agreed to initiate the process in batches and started the process on 10th of May 2024 with a small batch of 5000 non filers and according to FBR sources data of 65000 non filers has been shared with telecom companies.
This blockage result in submitting tax return by taxpayers and more than seven thousand non filers have submitted their tax returns and reactivate their sims.
