Fawlty Showers
I’ll Manage
The next morning I ran a group. A man in his forties said he didn’t belong there, he was managing just fine.
I’d read his chart. “You were hunting from a tree stand, drunk. Leaned over to pee and fell 40 feet. Broke your left leg, but managed to crawl back to your truck.”
He shrugged. I continued. “Got a DUI on the way home, spent $10,000 on fines and lawyers, but managed to keep your license. Your wife was furious, but you managed to calm her down by going to rehab.”
“You could say your life was manageable, but just barely. Barely managing to get by because of your drinking isn’t leaving you a whole lot of life to enjoy.”
Today I’ll do more than barely manage my life.
Fawlty Showers is a work of fiction. Any similarity between the characters and anyone you might know is purely coincidental.
