Favoritism in the Workplace: What to Do Next?

Favoritism – To be honest irrespective of the company policies or what they call it as “Standards” this Favoritism will be more unethical thing can be called.?

There may be a multiple consequences which can be experienced from an individual employee starting from the wishes of Good morning until saying Bye at end of the day.?

Favoritism can have a number of negative consequences for employees, the workplace, and the company as a whole. For employees, favoritism can lead to feelings of anger and frustration. It can also damage their morale and motivation, and make them less productive.

When you feel that you have been treated not fairly compare to the different team members can damage a particular employee integrity and it might impact on his/her career reputation. You can find out when they question more to you, they put you in spot to find out their mistakes & they dig more to get you be in trouble whereas they might be been very jovial /lenient to other peer members. Usually people say to go directly to the HR and talk to them, what if – the same HR have been in a situation like that, where does He/She should talk?

Can we end favoritism? As someone said "Birth of favoritism is the death of Ethics " !

It’s natural for leaders and employees to become friends. But workers and leaders alike should learn how to differentiate between positive professional relationships and destructive team hierarchies.

These majorly we can observe if the person is more into Favoritism:

  1. Personal relationships: Bosses may favor employees who they are friends with, or who they have a personal connection to.
  2. Nepotism: Bosses may favor employees who are related to them, or who personally close to them.?
  3. Bias: Bosses may favor employees who share their same race, gender, age, or other demographic characteristics.
  4. Office politics: Employees who are skilled at playing office politics may be able to curry favor with their bosses and get ahead.

?Here are some additional tips for dealing with favoritism in the workplace:

Stay professional and objective with less personal connections to avoid & to get counters on personal attacks.?

Be patient , It may take time to resolve a case of favoritism. Don't give up if you don't see results immediately.
