Favorite Events

They say you're not supposed to have a favorite kid.

It might even be risky naming a favorite place to eat if you're a food critic!

But what about Favorite Events when you're a Speaker & Performer?

Truth is, we usually just discuss the nightmare events among peers, such as the time I couldn't get paid until a year later in the back of a dimly lit room with a stack of $20's, $50's and $100's, or the one where the lights and sound cut out because someone didn't pay the hotel conference room bill, or worse yet, that one time in Vegas where I had to follow dancing poodles on Christmas Eve (these are all true stories my friend).

Lately, I have had many favorites!

I think every event I've had since I've been able to stand upright in the past few months have become favorites, essentially landmarks in my own progression to feeling better after my leg injury and mostly grateful for everything!

In the past 3 months I've spoken to over 10,000 educators. That's a favorite.

I recently posted about speaking at a youth detention center - another favorite.

And then there was an event last week that really made me happy - let me tell you about it.

It was in Atlanta, GA with JuicePlus+

What a great company!

I was Emcee one night, and Closing Keynote Speaker sharing The Promise the next day.

This was also my first event in 3 months without a leg brace!?YAY!?It's fun to move again.

Why was this a favorite event?

The crowd was amazing (always fun to have 4,000-5,000 attendees laughing, cheering, gifting a standing?ovation).

The sound, lights, and production were on point.

The planning team was stellar.

ALL events stand out throughout the year, there are plenty that are favorites to speakers like me, and this one will be unforgettable in the history?of my?career.

Mostly it was a favorite because many promises were kept (check paid on time, professional photos and videos sent to us to repost here, and much praise from the leadership following each presentation), instead of promises being broken, which really makes us not list those as a favorite.

Special Thanks to JuicePlus+ and the many events where great people keep the right promises, and allow me to do my best on stage for you.

Comment below if you've attended or performed for an event you absolutely loved this year and tag them to share the love!

I have been to many amazing events, and my favorites are events where someone is sharing cutting-edge information - pushing the boundaries on science and breaking ground on new research. I recently attended a Dr. Joe Dispenza event in Nashville, where he talked about the quantum field and how to access it to heal chronic diseases and other ailments. His research is very compelling.

I love that you are doing your dream Jason Hewlett, CSP, CPAE! You have worked so hard during your career (especially in crutches) that the success has followed. Fun to have so many events to reminisce the positive and not so positive events. Oh the stories I could tell!

Hey Jason Hewlett, CSP, CPAE! I am so happy we are connected my friend. I have subscribed to your newsletter as well. I had an Audible credit remaining waiting for the right book recommendation to be placed in front of me, and BOOM there it is! The Promise to the One By Jason Hewlett Narrated by Jason Hewlett I love Audible books narrated by the author! One day when I write a book, publish it, I am going to narrate it as well. There is something so special about hearing the author read their own book to you. It sinks in! Cheers to Uncle Algorithm keeping our posts in one another feeds. As far as events, I was the female lead vocalist of a ten piece cover band with a horn section back in the day 16 years ago. I have fabulous stories of the not so good gigs for various reasons. My favorite gig would be opening up for Styx at Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI -- the grounds were packed with music fans, obviously for Styx even though we liked to think we had that large of a following! As a lead vocalist, to be able to command an audience of 5,000+ screaming dancing drinking music fans, responding to my calls made the hair stand up on my arms with goose bumps! It was the time of my life! ??

Some of my favorite events were those that I laughed at the most, created meaningful relationships, and walked away feeling thankful.
