Fauzi's Intention for 2021

Fauzi's Intention for 2021

3rd January 2020, Singapore.

The 1st work week will start tomorrow, Monday 4th January 2021. I want to pen down my thought and intention for 2021. This is what I want to become:

0. Be Intentional

In everything I do, I must always start with a good intention and heart:

  • How I want to show up: having positive energy, clear in my communication, my ask, decisive, happy
  • How I want to make people feel: respected, loved, that I have interest in their development and success.
  • What impact and outcome I want to achieve: Who I want to become in the process, think my impact on others.

1. Family First

I will keep family on top of my mind. They are my lifesavers from time to time. They are the ones who I can turn to and take care me when I am sick and suffer. I will treat my family members better than I treat my colleagues or bosses. I will be a role model for my family. I will spend quality time with the family. All the below intentions are both for family and office.

2. Be Bolder

  • Ambition: Everything starts as a dream, conceptualized in my mind. I will allow myself to set bigger goals. Bigger goals open more possibility, force me to be more creative, thinking alternative ways to achieve them. I will think through the ambition. I will have a strategic plan to execute it. I will take the first step even though I am still unsure.
  • Courageous: It is scary to set big audacious goals. I will push the envelope, expanding to new area, learning new skill mean that surely I will fail. I embrace taking action, always take the step forward. Failure is part of the deal, part of the process. I will not dwell on my mistakes. There will be disagreement, there will be frictions. I will be open, listen and I will convey my thoughts and opinions. I will adapt and keep moving forward. Be courageous for me also meant that I will challenge people, I will expect excellence from others. The team can only grow when each member always challenge (in a good mindset) others, raising the bar of performance. I will be open for constructive feedbacks for improvements but I will not be bothered by negative critics.

3. Be Consistent

  • Show up: This is a minimum requirement. Regardless, whether I am comfortable or not, whether I know or don't know, I will show up for my responsibilities.
  • Take systematic actions: I will be clear on what is the next action I need to take to progress my goals. I take them and execute it will excellence and pride. I will be diligent in improving my processes. Religiously following my processes.
  • Measure: I will have full knowledge on what I have done, where am I in the journey. Measure what's important. I will be alert, knowing early if things are not going according to the plan.
  • Perseverance and Adaptive: I will have full knowledge on what I have done, where am I in the journey. Measure what's important. I will be alert, knowing early if things are not going according to the plan.
  • Integrity: I will be very selective on my promises and actions, but I will deliver my promises. I will take action with integrity. How I achieve things, Who I have developed during the journey are far more important than what I achieve.

4. Be Compassionate to myself and others

  • Take care myself both physical and mental health. I must wear my oxygen mask first.
  • Others: I expect excellence while I am attentive on others' feeling and situation. Everybody has their own season in life. I will seek to understand their situation, fears, limitations as well as ambitions too.

5. Be Joyful

  • Gratitude: always be grateful. I have a job. I have a wonderful family. I have a good health. I am safe. Never take for granted things I have: my body, my health, people around me, my things. Never again have entitlement mindset.
  • Bring the Joy: Bring to joy to the people I interact with. Always. Brendon Burchard taught this.

Thank you for reading my thought. If you think this will be helpful for others, kindly help sharing this on your LinkedIn or Facebook. Much appreciated.
