Saturated fats raise your cholesterol level and will lead to an increase of multiple diseases that you can definitely avoid if you lay off on eating too much food that has hydrogenated oil.
The amount of healthy fats you should have in your diet depends on the individual. A rule of thumb is 20-30% daily calories from fat is a good setting point. There are a plethora of benefits on why we should have healthy fats in our diet. It helps in hormonal function, keeping inflammation low, keep hunger at bay, brain function, and optimizing performance in the gym, among other things.
