In one of her video diary entries, she shows how she makes falafel, facing exorbitant price, including $10 USD for two onions.

Fatma has endured repeated displacement, treatment for hepatitis, and a lack of access to food and water. It is winter now. She and her family are facing a forced starvation, living in tents, in humid Mediterranean winter that clings on to your clothes, and sleep deprivation, from eerie hums of drones constantly overhead and nearby explosions; a moment to moment reality reminding them of the threat of being bombed.???

Fatma and her family continue to do all that they can to survive a genocide.

Last week, Amnesty International concluded that "Israel is committing a genocide against the Palestinian's in Gaza."

Naming this loudly and clearly is the first step.?

“States that continue to transfer arms to Israel at this time must know they are violating their obligation to prevent genocide and are at risk of becoming complicit in genocide. All states with influence over Israel, particularly key arms suppliers like the USA and Germany…must act now to bring Israel’s atrocities against Palestinians in Gaza to an immediate end.” – Amnesty International December 5, 2024

Condemning genocidal acts and demanding that this end should not be controversial. History has shown us what happens when we turn a blind eye. After World War II, we swore "never again". But today, we are witnessing, live stream, the normalization of genocide.

Israel's belligerence in the past 76+ years is unrelenting and has yet to face accountability. This is not a ‘take a political side’ issue—it’s a moral one. The United States is complicit. Those of us paying taxes must understand that our money is funding the bombs that are massacring entire families.
