FATIMA FURRIRO MURDER CASE & DARK WEB

Fatima Furiro a teenager girl hailing from Pakistan’s small city RaniPur located in Sindh Province had been reportedly murdered after physically abused.

The girl had passed away on August 14 & was buried silently on the same day without a post-mortem examination.

This was the heart wrenching incident of brutality after a cold-blooded murder of innocent Zainab from Kasur – Punjab a few years earlier.

Fatima said to be working in the haveli (mansion) of a local Murshid (Spiritual leader), who exercises significant influence due to his family’s roots in power politics & strong religious family background.

Since ages people especially living in the remote areas, follow these religious pundits blindly & “gift” their family members regardless of their ages or gender for the service of “MURSHID” & their families. Similarly, Fatima was also handed over to serve their spiritual leader at Ranipur apparently without any monetary benefit or against poor compensation.

This weird tradition has been the pure result of the poverty, illiteracy & extreme blind devotion often on the part of less educated, poverty stricken or marginal segment of the society.

This issue got highlighted in the mainstream media when a local generalist & social media activist took stand & made this hidden tragedy public on various forums. Mr. Shoukat Noonari a local generalist, social activist & strong voice on Fatima’s issue, who dug deep in the issue & attracted attention of more people through his consistence reporting & social media posts fearlessly.

As a result of organized social media campaign, local officials compelled to announce for kabr kushai (disinterment) of Fatima for a thorough medical examination of corpse i-e post mortem.

The post mortem report had shocking revelations & signs of physical abuse & extreme torture.

As per print media “The report was submitted to the Director General of Health Services in Sindh, shortly after the body was exhumed for examination in the Ali Muhammad Phuriro village graveyard.

The injuries occurred before her death," the report noted, revealing a total of eight injuries on the girl's body. According to the three-page report, a bluish-red mark was observed on the right side of her forehead, along with a reddish-black bruise on the upper chest measuring six square (sq) centimeters (cm). Similar marks of 12 sq cm and 10 sq cm were also noted on the upper and lower middle back, along with a smaller mark of two sq cm on the left side of her back.

Moreover, a 40 sq cm bruise was visible on the front of her left arm and forearm, with a similar mark of 12 sq cm on the right arm. The medical team collected samples for chemical, serological, and DNA analysis, as well as for microbiology, histopathology. The report was signed by eight doctors, including Dow University of Health Sciences Forensic Medicine and Toxicology Chairman, who supervised the process.

Aside from above facts, there were certain factors, which were either less discussed or entirely ignored in this case, we presume this case of cold-blooded murder did not only pertain to child labor, child abuse & bonded labor but also hints us towards DARK WEB.

It is commonly known fact that “a content that has the most popularity on the dark web is illegal pornography, more specifically child pornography. Major hot selling content is sexualized torture & killing of teenage girls. Where viewers pay to watch a live stream of a person being tortured, sexually abused & finally killed.

?Let us discuss, what are the elements that make this case unusual & establish this as the potential case of dark web.

?1.??? CCTV footage:

One video has appeared & went viral in social media. where alleged Peer (Mr. Asad shah) can be seen cladded in a blanket & seemed to be sleeping nude on his bed, while at the other corner of his room (on the floor) Fatima was seen crying due to pain, agony & trauma, she could ultimately be seen going through unbearable pain & eventually breathed her last due to severe injuries.

2.??? Severe Torture:

Fatima was about 10 years old & daughter of a poor “Mureed” (disciple), she received horrific, brutal & severe torture. Post mortem report suggest extreme torture with multiple injuries almost on the whole body.

?3.??? Fluid in Lungs

It had also been reported in various social media posts that fluid (watery substances) in lungs & scars around her neck were also found during medical examination.

When we look at these hair-raising developments, we will arrive on some questions that must be asked, inquired & evaluated.

First, it sounds quite weird & unconventional to install a CCTV in one’s living room, this is often regarded as inappropriate or uncustomary. However, on the contrary a CCTV had been viewed & appeared in social media, which raises question as to what could be the purpose of installing a CCTV in his living room?

Secondly, Fatima was aged 10 years & belonged to very poor family, what made Mr. Shah so violent to unleash series of torture on an innocent soul?

Was he afraid of resistance from 10 years old girl or her helpless poor parents, who were nobody to him socially?

Third, Fluid in lungs suggest, she might had been choked in water tub at bath room to make horrifying scenes to earn more money on dark web?

All the above signs hint at a crime that had been well planned, managed & executed for a dirty design, keeping in view the above elements, possible use of Dark web cannot be ruled out in this case. Criminal minds had been using this platform globally to earn illegal money by uploading violent sexual videos especially featuring teenagers on dark web.

In this context, Law enforcement agencies must look into this case from dark web perspective & take the following steps bare minimum to unearth the truth.

?? To review alleged person's all-bank accounts to detect any incoming unknown receipt from foreign source.

?? To decode their cellular phone to detect probably malicious content & other details.

?? To have forensic lab test of his laptop, computer or any other electronic device to collect evidences & maintain the legitimacy of a chain of evidence. deleted file recovery etc.

This would be the only way to take this case to its logical end & set an example for criminals, goons & bad actors to refrain from such a heinous crime in future.
