Father's Day
To the man I’ve most admired, my father. I wish you were still here this Father’s Day. My dad was someone whose life was defined by sacrifice and selflessness, which for me are one of life’s greatest virtues. He was a man devoted to his family and country. Hardly a day goes by I don’t think about what a great father he was and how even at this stage in my life, I try to compare myself knowing full well I’ll never measure up. He landed in Normandy D-Day plus 17, lucky enough to miss the horrors of June 6th but not the Battle of the Bulge, the Ardennes forest, tree bursts, frost bite and being shot and wounded. Came home and later raised our family of six along with my equally impressive mother. My parents worked so hard to provide for us, never knowing the meaning of “ I need some me time” or taking vacations. Really a great guy, always miss him, his guidance and wisdom.

3 年I just hope my sons think the samething. The fact is out of 15 years of Service six half years Deployments, then almost three years in TDY missions and 180 FTX’s so 15 years - 6 years - 3 years -1 year and half = that’s a Total of 4 half years with my Children and wife. I just hope they feel the same way.
