Caution - some use of expletives

Ironic that people profess to play in the sunshine, yet in truth they delight in the black-hole-sun. What do we have to do to change this orientation? Truly. For years I’ve attempted to write about the deeper meanings of the astrological signs, planets and the like, so that those on a spiritual path can better understand what the language of vibrational waveforms slowed down translates into psycho-spiritual terms. But like trying to remove cat hair from a black jacket, the old fear based, unintentionally disempowering concepts just won’t or can’t leave.

It is so obvious with students who join my classes, stating that they’ve learnt from YouTube and websites, or if they are older – books, as their language is so heavily deterministic, coded in terms that fitted a world several hundred years ago. Yet, it is a language that continues to be spoken, spell binding many into an enchantment that keeps them trapped within a reality that limits their view of the multi-dimensional being that they are.

I recall the uncomfortable feelings I had when I attended my first classes in 1994, listening to the language framework of my chart and thinking to myself, ‘I obviously don’t know myself well’, as it just didn’t fully sit right. But I was in love with the language of the stars, and knew that something was in it. It just wasn’t in this class or in many of the books I was reading (I am old so books were my go-to!).

Stepping away from the books and reflecting on those in my world, against the backdrop of their chart, was how I learnt my craft. That continued with clients, as I was blessed to be referred on by friends to their friends, a process that continues to this day. Much of what I learnt in theory, didn’t quite apply in practise, and moreover, the language didn’t sit well at all.

And it is the very same language that continues to pervade the astrological community today, as sex craved Scorpio, warrior Aries, schizophrenic Gemini, stay-at-home Cancer and wishy-washy Fishy clichés abound. And don’t get me started on Mercury’s confusion, Venus’ love in and Fuck-It-Kill-it Mars…

It is hard to be discerning when you are not skilled in a language, so I feel for many new to astrology and also understand why so many react so emotionally violently to the subject of astrology being brought up socially. I do. All I can say to you is that the astrological language is not something replete with value judgements of good/ bad, better/ worse, stronger/ weaker. That comes from the world view of the astrologer. Astrology is moulded and shaped by the consciousness and awareness of the astrologer and as such, I would ask you to take a step backwards and question what I write, or what others write, as what we are doing is translating the polysemic symbolism of the solar system through our own filters – worldview and experiences. If you cannot understand what the astrologer is saying, because there is a lot of jargon, move on. If you feel frightened, then it is not for you.

The planets do NOT cause anything. We do not live in a reductionist materialist causative reality. That is a world that suits mechanics. And humans are not machines, despite bio-hacking, mRNA medications, bio-tech and the like. Yes, there is research happening into a ‘mechanism’ but when dealing with the chaotic systems that humans are, it does not work, just as it does not work in the humanities. So, a language that gives you the impression that Pluto is up Uranus and Saturn is making you depressed, whilst Mars and Venus are stimulating your base and sacral chakras, is perhaps best left alone.
