Fatal Car Crashes in TX: A Record that Needs to Be Broken

Fatal Car Crashes in TX: A Record that Needs to Be Broken

About a month ago, there was a disturbing headline that grabbed everyone’s attention. It read, “Last day that no one died on Texas roads: Nov. 7, 2000.”

Just let that sink in for a minute. The last time the state did not record a fatal car crash was during the presidential election between George W. Bush and Al Gore. Since that time, more than 59,388 people have died on Texas roads.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 94 percent of fatal car accidents are due to driver error such as distracted driving, drunk driving, and speeding.

Some of the saddest and most distressing cases that a law firm may be asked to handle are auto/truck accidents involving the death of a loved one.

With the holidays upon us, The Harris Firm reminds you to please put your phone down, slow down, and don’t drink and drive. Nothing is worth taking the life of a parent, a child, a friend – or even a stranger.
