The Fastest, Easiest, And Most Professional Way To Publish A Press Release… At Zero Cost. By Walt Podgurski, Publisher, Daily Insurance Report

Think about all the things you can do if you have a message that is posted on the Internet…

·        You can e-mail or notify all your clients of the link to your content.

·        You can post the link on every e-mail you send as part of your signature.

·        You can contact your prospects and let them know you have published your thinking on the important subject of (…) and invite them to read it.

·        You can use the title as a door opener when you invite people to connect with you on LinkedIn. (Jim, I’d like to connect with you on LinkedIn. I recently created a short article on the critical role of … right now, and you may be interested in reviewing it.)

·        You can publish it in your LinkedIn newsfeed as a “post.”

Let me explain how easy it is to get your news, ideas, perspectives, etc., published with no out-of-pocket cost.

START BY PUTTING YOUR CONTENT ON “LINKEDIN PULSE”

1. Create your content (I used Word to create this document and converted it to a PDF file).

2. Log in to your LinkedIn account and at the top in the middle column is an icon to “Start a post.” Ignore that for now.

3. Directly below the icon is another icon to “Write an article on LinkedIn.” Click on it. There are no filters (within reason), no editors or editorial boards to get past: just cut and paste your message, article, announcement, whatever.

4. Insert your headline in the space provide by LinkedIn, and insert your entire Word Document; (your text), from your Word file into the space provided by LinkedIn.

5. Click the “Publish” icon in the upper right-hand corner. Your press release is now published as “LinkedIn Pulse.” Content.

FINISH BY CREATING A POST IN LINKEDIN

You most likely know how to do a post already; but go back to the “Start a post” icon and post it on LinkedIn. Include a headline, and part of the text, and an image or video, and LinkedIn will format the post for you.

Unless you are already a LinkedIn super-connector, you may get between 25 and 500 views.

My guess is that LinkedIn’s challenge is that they cannot show your post to everybody because they have more content (dog and cat videos) then they have viewers reading the content.

WHY NOT GET ALSO YOUR CONTENT WHERE IT IS GOING TO BE SEEN BY THE PEOPLE YOU WANT TO REACH?

Note: When you click on the "Publish" icon, LinkedIn will automatically offer you the option to copy your URL link to your article. Plus, don't forget to add your hashtags so people can find your article.

·        If you are in the life, health, and employee benefits business, submit it to us (https://dailyinsurancereport.com) ([email protected]). We may or may not include it in our newsletter, but so what if we don’t, there are many other messaging opportunities. (We love to publish content that has to do with the distribution of life, health, and especially employee benefits.)

·        Submit it to the other newsletters and magazines in your industry. Just send a short note via e-mail with a link to your content published on LinkedIn. (Here’s a hint; when I look at content, the relevance to my audience’s interests is the #1 factor in deciding to include a press release in the newsletter, or not.)

·        Send a link to your announcement in an e-mail to your entire e-mail list.

·        Include a link to your article in your e-mail signature where it will be part of every future e-mail you send.

·        Call up your local media and let the person in charge of the business section know you have an article to submit.

Your contacts aren’t going to engage with you if you are sitting at your desk without reaching out to them in some way. Make this process one of the ways!

Good Luck!!!
