On the fast track: September is all about high speed experiences

This year, we are celebrating not just one, but many anniversaries. In this episode of Porsche Spotlight we will shed a light on an event whose roots go back exactly half a century: the Porsche Track Experience. A diverse range of high-speed events where passion meets performance.

Diving into these emotions, we will look back at where it all started but also focus on our Porsche Experience Centers (PEC) offering the chance to not only accelerate emotions but to experience the heart of our brand.

And in case you still crave for more, we also tell a story of sportsmanship with this year's 6-hour race and our focus story into the world of digital motorsport.

Are you ready to take a spin behind the scenes of this month's topics? Fasten your seatbelts!

Let's take driver development, technical expertise, and racetrack adventure and turn them into unique experiences! Fifty years ago, this triumvirate led to the founding of the Porsche Sportfahrschule.

The goal: experiencing what a Porsche is capable of in terms of driving dynamics giving you a true appreciation of the engineering expertise. That's what it is all about.

In 1974, the 'Porsche Sportfahrschule' was founded. In the 50 years since then, an extensive world of experiences has been developed under the name Porsche Track Experience.

Passion meets performance

Fancy a look at the milestones on its way to become today's Porsche Track Experience?

  • 8 April 1954 – the first driving training to officially involve Porsche takes place in Lugano, Switzerland
  • 1956 – the first training session is held in the USA
  • 1960s – demand for driving events increases, especially for the sales staff of new dealer organizations in Germany and abroad, for the media and Porsche Clubs

In case you crave for more information about the highlights and offerings of each location, we recommend you this article from the latest issue of Christophorus magazine:

For the seventh time, Porsche employees took part in the 6-hour run in Zuffenhausen.

Our employees are just as sporty and athletic as our products. At this year's 6-hour run, around 3,800 of them came together to run for a good cause.

In teams, they ran lap after lap around a track at the Porsche factory in Zuffenhausen. And you might have guessed it: the course is exactly 911 meters long, in honor of our iconic Porsche 911 sports car.

“The 6-hour run shows the sporty side of Porsche. And our strong drive to contribute to our society as a team.” Andreas Haffner , Member of the Executive Board responsible for Human Resources and Social Affairs

As in previous years, the aim of the Porsche team was to complete as many laps as possible. With 26,120 laps, our employees outdid themselves and showed true sportsmanship.

For every lap completed, Porsche AG donates five euros to the Ferry-Porsche-Stiftung. The funds are used for the 'Starter Kit for Little Dreamers' initiative. With this initiative, the Ferry Porsche Foundation is committed to equal opportunities for children and young people.

Figure of the month:

200,000 euros: This amount was raised by Porsche employees at this year's 6-hour run. With 26,120 laps on the circuit, a total donation of 130,600 euros was raised. Porsche rounded up the amount to 200,000 euros.

From the asphalt to the digital race track! For our works team in digital racing – as well as for our teams taking part in Le Mans or Formula E –, their profession is not a sport simply for the sake of it.

Porche Team Support, You can be my first partner in a dream I've had since I was a kid. Today's calendar of what I've been working on—my daily schedule is similar. I served 8 years in the US Marine Corps and 10 years as a California State Prison Correctional Officer. I believe in my adaptability and know that, given the right environment, anyone can learn any skill. I'm not asking for anything free, and I'm certainly not bullshitting. I know where I'm going to invest my funds, and I hope you'll consider joining Bull-Shit Taxes. In the age of artificial intelligence, we can thrive together. If you're paying attention, send me your email or give a thumbs up, and I'll link us all in through Zoom. Or not. Either way, my family and I will be moving forward on SANDOVALS WAY OF LIFE—helping people, seeing the good in people, adapting, and serving God, family, and my beloved USMC. Looking forward to what we can achieve together. Send me a private message if you want to be included? Or Not and we can try again tomorrow or Monday.
