Fast Growth 50 Index: Four English regions released + collective turnover increased by ￡5.3 billion between 2020-2022

It's been a busy week and I am excited to share that The UK Fast Growth 50 Index has published the first ever lists of the fastest growing businesses for:

? London

? North of England

? the Midlands and the East of England

? the South of England

This builds on the work that has been undertaken by Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE in developing the original Fast Growth 50 in Wales for the last 25 years.

The 2023 lists for Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland will be published in the next few weeks.

This work demonstrates, yet again, that a small number of fast growth firms make a substantial contribution to the UK’s economic landscape.

Their incredible growth in the four English regions during difficult times shows that through generating wealth and jobs in their local communities, entrepreneurship is the cornerstone of regional and national prosperity.

For example, the 200 firms across the four lists have a collective turnover of ￡8.1 billion and employ 32,600.

Perhaps most important of all, their collective turnover has increased by ￡5.3 billion between 2020-2022 and, together, they have created over 16,000 jobs which, given that they were operating during Covid and its immediate aftermath, is an incredible achievement.
