On the evening of 20 September 2024, the EYA Alumni networking session, "Fast & Furious with Maybank ”, brought together entrepreneurial luminaries against the thrilling backdrop of the F1 practice sessions. Co-hosted by ASME, it celebrated past and present winners of the Enterprise of the Year Award (EYA) . More than just a formal gathering – it was a vibrant celebration of entrepreneurial spirit, filled with energy and enthusiasm. Attendees mingled well into the night, building valuable connections and sharing their success stories. The atmosphere was electric, with conversations flowing seamlessly, fostering a sense of camaraderie and mutual respect among the participants.?

Celebrating This Year's Winners

The EYA remains one of Singapore’s most prestigious business accolades, celebrating local entrepreneurs on a national platform for 33 years. This year’s theme, “Forging Forward, Shaping the Future,” highlights business leaders who defy norms and overcome industry challenges to achieve groundbreaking goals. Overall Winner for New Entrepreneurs: Chief Executive Officer, Lawrence Luan (Octopus8 Pte Ltd )

Founded in 2017, Octopus8 Pte Ltd, under the leadership of CEO Lawrence Luan, is dedicated to driving positive social change. Lawrence's experience in employing individuals with disabilities at a global logistics company inspired him to create a business that combines exceptional customer service, tech support, digital services, and sales. Guided by the values of altruism, integrity, and diligence, Octopus8 has rapidly grown to become one of Singapore's fastest-growing tech companies in the social service sector, boasting a client base of over 30 BSB contracts.

Overall Winner for Established Entrepreneurs: Managing Director, Thong Yong Hin (Inter Island Manpower Pte Ltd )

Inter Island Manpower Pte Ltd, founded in 2008 by Managing Director Thong Yong Hin, addresses Singapore's blue-collar manpower shortage with a steadfast commitment to ethical and quality employment solutions. Thong has navigated complex regulatory landscapes and funding challenges, successfully expanding operations across Asia. The company’s switch to housing management during the COVID-19 pandemic ensured business continuity and workforce welfare. Today, Inter Island Manpower stands as a leader in HR outsourcing, facilitating talent mobility and managing workforce-related services across the region.
