Fast Five | Walmart Expands ESLs, IKEA Hires Employees For Roblox & The Body Cam Safety Debate

Hello Omni Talks Fans! What a week it has been!

Anne and I arrived in NYC on Monday night, spent Tuesday and Wednesday interviewing our rear ends off at CommerceNext, and on Thursday, headed over to Mirakl's Summit to learn all we could about marketplaces and to interview even more retail executives.

God, we love our jobs!

In this week's Fast Five Podcast, Anne and I discussed:

  • Walmart rolling out electronic shelf labels to nearly half its U.S. stores
  • TJX asking its sales associates to wear body cameras
  • Tesco building its own third-party digital marketplace
  • IKEA hiring employees to work inside of Roblox
  • And closed with a look at Starbucks’ decision to open its own in-house production studio?

There’s all that, plus Capri Suns, Dr. Pepper, and some really spicy enchiladas.

P.S. July is almost here so that can mean only one thing -- it is time to bring back Placer.ai's Ethan Chernofsky to hand out our mid-year retail grades.

Our live mid-year retail report card webinar is always one of our most interesting and well attended webinars, and you can sign up by clicking here or on the image right below this sentence.
