Fast Five | Netflix Is Opening Stores, Hy-Vee Does Microfulfillment & Best Buy Says No To DVDs

Hello, Omni Talk Fans! Best Buy is getting out of DVDs and Netflix is opening stores.?

Who would have ever thought back in 2003, when I was a business school student trying Netflix for the first time, that this day would come?

Alas, but it has and just after I binged watched The Sopranos on Netflix all weekend long!

1. Best Buy will no longer sell DVDs and Blu-ray discs in stores following this holiday season. (Read More)
2. Netflix says it will open two “Netflix Houses” in 2025, stores designed to feature products from its popular hit shows alongside dining and live event experiences. (Read More)
3. Dollar General’s recently named CEO Jeff Owen lasted less than one year as he was replaced by his predecessor Todd Vasos. (Read More)
4. Hy-Vee has inked a microfulfillment deal with Takeoff, leading us here at Omni Talk to wonder if this is also a possible signal as to why Kroger has halted development with Ocado. (Read More)
5. And Target, in a very odd move, has begun testing 10 item or less limits in Maine under the guise of wanting to deter theft speed up the process. (Read More)
