Hello, how are you doing? If you're a parent, I hope you've survived the half-term juggle!
I've enjoyed having a few days off with my family this week, including a fun day at Finkley Down Farm which was amazing for Halloween and worth a visit if you're ever on the south coast. Followed by a day out with my hubby, just us two, to Barton on Sea (pictured above). We don't get much time together and this is our favourite spot, including lunch at Beachcomber Cafe, we couldn't believe we were sitting outside in the sunshine in October! What have you been up to? Hit reply and let me know.
I also took my daughter to meet my bestie and her baby at Coal Drops Yard, which we love. We went on the spooky halloween monster trail which was good fun, and ate yummy pizza at Happy Face. Highly recommend. I didn't manage to do any shopping or browsing, so will have to go back to Shelter to see their Vivienne Westwood collaboration another time! If you fancy a spot of Personal Shopping at Coal Drops Yard, drop me a message or book in here, its's got a perfect mix of secondhand and mid to premium level brands. Other locations and online also available!
Sunday Sustainable Fashion Pick
This week's Sunday Sustainable Fashion Pick is a scarf I bought when I attended Isabel Hospice's recent Thrift & Fizz event, to support with Personal Styling advice and pull together my curated edit of pieces, attuned to the trends. To see how I styled the scarf this week, head over to my Instagram for the full video!
It was just £5! I love the warm autumnal rust, which is perfect for my colouring, and great for coming into the Autumn/Winter season. It goes with a lot and is a perfect match with my leopard print bag with similar colours. I'm also living in this Sweaty Betty waterproof coat at the moment. I took a month or so to consider it as it was a big investment purchase for me, but it will be worth it with all this rainy weather, especially on the school run!
Things I Enjoyed This Week
Whilst exploring on the Spooky Halloween Trail at Coal Drops Yard this week, we stumbled upon a couple of exhibitions of the work from Central St Martins university, there were some stunning creations by designers studying there. The image above was from the 'Bill of Health' exhibition which explored themes of health, illness and disability, curated by Lucy Chapman who has her own experience of Chronic Illness. I also loved the Black History Month pieces, which celebrates the talent, contributions and multi-faceted nature of the Black fashion designers at UAL, available to view until 1st November.
