Fascinating Revelations To Tesla’s Master Plan, Remastered!?
There is no need to introduce Tesla, Elon Musk or electric cars. But one thing about autonomous vehicles stood out.
Ever since I started researching in drones and unmanned aerial vehicles in 2018, I was constantly presented with unmanned vehicle materials related to Tesla. Whether they are UVs or UAs, Tesla hogs the headlines in cyberspace. This is not unexpected.
So while I was studying drones and unmanned aircrafts, I decided to dig a little deeper into Tesla whenever I had some free time. In the book Ludicrous by Edward Niedermeyer, a journalist and an auto industry analyst, I came across a fancy surprise. And that it may be coming right at us, soon.
According to the book, a top-secret master plan by Elon Musk made known in 2006 had only four (maybe five) key points:
1. Build sports car
2. Use money to build affordable car
3. Use money to build an even more affordable car
4. Provide zero emission electric power generation options
5. Don’t tell anyone
For those who follow Tesla’s development closely, you would know the fracas and sometimes dramas, that occurred over the past 10 years.
But one thing that is quite sensationally dramatic, even just by visualising, is master plan part 2 in Musk’s strategy, the summoning of cars!
In his tweet in Jan 2016, Musk announced that Tesla would be able to summon car anywhere by land. He also painted a picture of autopilot cars travelling between Los Angeles and New York.
And in an update tweet in Nov 2018, Musk disclosed that summoning Tesla cars was only available for short distances. Still, this was surreal.
While this was imagined in 2016 and became technically possible two years later, it would be spellbinding if it was safely deployable too, like a pilot-test run, even if it was for short distances!
For those who watched one of the episodes in the Ironman movies, there was a scene when Tony Stark was thrown out of the window from a high-rise building. He had a smart watch-liked device on his wrist and while plunging down, was able to activate and summon his Ironman suit by tapping onto the device.
Now back to reality and in Tesla’s case, we know how Musk’s car summoning vision and those promises have turned out so far.
It is still quite a vision and today, many believe that summoning a car is a matter of time. And going by what we have witnessed in tech development in countries like China, car summoning could be arriving sooner than we think.
