Farmer is the First Entrepreneur

#entrepreneurship is a challenge but with the right spirit and mindset, it becomes a fun challenge. If nothing else, my experience has definitely taught me the real meaning of entrepreneurship and I would like to share that with you!

When I presented the thought of #TCOLLEGEDAYZ to the world, it was criticised, highly judged, and also appreciated. That is where my ( Santosh Gupta ) journey began!

A thought or idea is the seed that you need. Believe in it, because no farmer ever said that his crop won’t grow without planting it. Think of yourself as a farmer for your seed, and believe that it’s only you who can truly make it a fruitful and worthy plant.

There is a lot more to it. Once you sow the seed, you take care of it, you improvise according to the challenge, you protect it from all the negatives, and hope to see it blooming. While people taunted and pointed out all the negatives about my idea, I solely focused on making it bloom. I have to agree that it’s easier said than done, but then again it’s a challenge, 'fun challenge'. What comes next is watering and adding manure to the crop. Once your idea is visible to its audience and investors can see its worth, it is time to explore the real potential. Expand it, grow with it, and cherish it.

This is the step where most of the budding entrepreneurs go wrong! Just like adding too much or too little of water can damage the crops, your idea is fragile too. The challenging part is that no one can say direct the right amount for your idea, that is why you need a team. A team of experts and fresh minds that can be creative and at the same time can speak with experience. Choosing a team is the most crucial part of any business, as the right people can take your business to the sky but one wrong mind can destroy it completely. Therefore, my advice would be, ‘experiment with experience!’ Luckily, this step was a piece of cake for me as Tcollegedayz was an initiative started with experienced minds and college buddies. I already knew the finest, and they were all ready to join hands and grow together.

Remember, many people are qualified for the position, but very few deserve it!

Once your crop is visible to far eyes and looks fruitful, you have to make sure that it is fruitful and gets its worth. At this stage, competitions and damages are a mandatory experience. Yes! Learn, grow, and earn is the mantra, but what people don’t tell is that failing is a part of it. Every farmer has to deal with a part of a bad crop, and so does an entrepreneur. So, what if your business is sinking and negativity is all that appears, what will you do then? Here you will need your team spirit. Falling is a part, and you might have to face bad news if you don’t act fast. Gather your team and inspire them, and get motivated by their smiles, because if you can cross over to the happy side, you will be a true entrepreneur and leader. It’s not about the complications, it is about how you and your team handle the complication.

The tough part of being an entrepreneur is that you always have to be prepared for challenges.

It gets easier with time to deal with them, but every time there is a new puzzle to solve. Even if #TCOLLEGEDAYZ is a successful venture today, I struggle to put out many fires every day. But thanks to my team and their support, it has been and continues to be a fun challenge. Hope the same happens for you!
