Farewells & New Beginnings

Today is my last day at Smiths Detection. I joined the company a month after turning 30 years old and I leave less than three months before turning 40, so this company has been my home for an entire decade.

It is a bittersweet moment for me. Whilst I am delighted to be moving on in order to continue my pursuit of personal goals, and of developing my career, I leave with sadness at having to say farewell to my valued colleagues. They are all brilliant, talented, interesting individuals, and when I have had the opportunities to work with each of them, they have always shown me nothing but respect, openness, trust and honesty, and I have learned something from every single one of them. Wherever I was in the world, whether in Bushey, Hemel Hempstead, Paddington, Vitry-sur-Seine, Wiesbaden or Edgewood, it was my colleagues that made me happy and excited to get up and go to work each day. Collectively and individually, the Smiths Detection team are wonderful, and I will miss them all so very much.

I leave with so many noteworthy and memorable moments and achievements. But my dearest memories will be those brief moments when our work allowed us the opportunity to really build lasting friendships beyond the simple working relationships.

I thank all of those who have helped me along my way, especially my line managers and colleagues in both the Strategy and Service teams.

And now..... onto the next adventure!
