"Farewell and safe travels" - or not?!

The extreme dangers posed by commercial and consumer drones become exponentially more important to address every single day. One of the most incredibly valued aspects of any nation's critical infrastructure, our airports, are in danger.

Every day, across the world, we are seeing a striking rise of "near-misses" and even collisions with commercial airliners making final approaches and departures at our airports. The real potential for a dramatic loss of life over a drone collision has been proven by laboratory testing of a basic, run-of-the-mill quad-copter striking a commercial aircraft wing (video in the comments).

There are a multitude of real-world examples already of how dangerous these UAVs can be, “Some 92 incidents were recorded in 2017, according to analysis of UK Airprox Board (UKAB) data.” (telegraph.co.uk). This is just a fraction of the total number of near-misses.

Already realized fiscal losses are extreme as well, causing more strain to our airliners, "UAE airport lost $16.62 million (USD) from just 3 drone incidents in 2017" (arabianbusiness.com). As if we want our luggage costs going up anymore to compensate for this!
