Farewell Rhenus - Hello opportunity

So a new year will bring me new challenges as I announce that I am leaving Rhenus at the end of January to pursue new opportunities.

I reflect positively on my time working at Rhenus and I am grateful for the support, commitment and loyalty of the Company and my colleagues over the years. I have grown so much professionally and personally and It is only right that I take this opportunity to name some of the people that have had such a positive influence and provided immense support to me and the Air and Ocean division over the years. David Williams Gary Dodsworth Gary Hollington Lisa Binnersley (UK board of directors) Graham Barrow Alec Woodger for the excellent support, successful collaboration and working relationship that we have enjoyed. Frank Roderkerk for you unwavering support and backing for the UK and Patricia Garrow Adam Nowell the excellent Senior Leaders that drive the business forward every day and will work passionately to support the next chapter. Nicola Brooke Roy Garrow DipFA, CeMAP rob aldridge for your excellent management and development of our colleagues within your Branches, and of course to the wonderfully passionate and knowledgeable ladies Marie-Louise Watkins Jayne Fox Louise Honoré . Of course I would also like to acknowledge and thank all of the Air and Ocean colleagues for your passion, knowledge, commitment and support that you demonstrate each and every day.

We have achieved so much in the UK particularly over the past 3-4 years.

Rhenus AO now operates in three verticals : Fresh, Full Vehicle Logistics and Life Sciences & Healthcare and we have taken significant steps forward in our Airfreight handling capabilities and tonnage. We hope to become a Top 10 IATA Agent by the end of this year which will be an incredible achievement.

We have embarked on various complex projects over which have been or are about to be delivered. A truly exceptional achievement by everyone involved.

"Project Braveheart" delivered Rhenus' first fully licenced (WDA) centre of excellence for Life Sciences & Healthcare at Heathrow which sits proudly alongside the second unit "Project Stargate" to deliver full Airfreight cargo handling and screening capabilities to support our Airfreight Gateway.

Finally in September 2023 we embarked "Project Constellation" which will be operational before I leave. Perhaps the most complex project of all requiring investments in new EMIS screening and a 1209m3 Chiller whilst also adapting to longer operational hours to support our perishable cargo handling.

We are also proud to operate as an ETSF which will provide further efficiencies to Rhenus' Customers and the wider Rhenus Group.

Rhenus are now accredited as a Regulated Agent, WDA Licence holders and recently achieved 100% in our ISO13485 accreditations a truly remarkable achievement and thanks also to Michael Morris for his support here.

This project itself was delivered in 20 weeks which is an incredible achievement by the Project Team members who worked tirelessly and passionately to deliver this complex project whilst also doing their day jobs. Caitlin Broeders Steffen T. Paresh Bhatia, Greg Duncan truly amazing work guys.

I also consider one of my proudest career achievements our Corporate partnership with Cancer Research UK (CRUK) where we will raise 50k through sales revenue based donations and the working together partnership where we will raise a further £50k through employee donations. Rhenus Air and Ocean were joined by the other UK entities Rhenus High Tech ALS Customs Services Rhenus Home Delivery and our colleagues in the Road Organisation. Every penny raised will go in the fight to cure Cancer and CRUK are leading the world in research and I am personally so proud to be associated with this.

So as I prepare to leave Rhenus Air and Ocean I can reflect that I leave the business in a much stronger place than when I joined. With a strong infrastructure and structure to support the business that will open up many new revenue streams for the Company. Our Air and Ocean Division also has a much higher standing and reputation now in the UK with thanks Maria Smit (Hofer) Agon Bujupi for all the marketing and social media work. .

I leave with so many strong relationships and friendships around the world something which means so much to me personally.

It is now time for me to find a Company that matches my own values. One that will benefit from my 35+ years of Logistics, Project Management and Leadership experience. I look forward to meeting, leading and developing the true foundations of any successful Company its people and look forward with excitement to the next chapter.

Good luck Spencer!
