Farewell Coach Hurdle, Pittsburgh will miss you! Sorry you didn't get to go out on your own terms!
Clint Hurdle was definitely not the problem with the Pirates, but management and ownership figured he was not part of the solution either. Pittsburgh fans are split with the recent news of Coach Hurdle's firing because we needed to rebuild, but I think the fan base would much rather have seen a change in ownership than a change with Hurdle.
Clint Hurdle was a great person and he had done a miraculous job turning the most losing organization in the history of major league sports into a winner. Pirates' fans will remember more the good times and the play-off runs than the recent bad times. That Reds home play-off game (the Cueto game) was my favorite all-time sports moment. Thank you Clint for spending time here with your family and being such a great member of the community as well. We loved the faith-based nights you would spend in Indiana, Pa and in Pittsburgh. Your uplifting stories and advice was always well-timed and well-received.
Coach Hurdle didn't get to end his time here in Pittsburgh on his own terms. We have all been there in some way, shape, or form. I'm sure he will handle it with class and dignity.
