Fare Bella Figura-Make A Good Impression, Be A Sharp Dressed Man, Episode #15 (Video here:https://bit.ly/43TF7MF )
I run my own soft skills training franchise business in Tokyo and many years ago, I decided to dress for success. Each day I consult my schedule and that day's work content drives my satorial choices. Before I head out the door every day, I check myself in the mirror and ask, "Do I look like one of the most professional people in my industry". Here is a good question to ponder: do I dress well because I am the President or am I the President because I chose to start dressing well?
This day I had a new client meeting (went very well), lunch with an old friend, my Japan's Top Business Interviews podcast recording, and an evening networking event at the American Chamber. The client meeting, podcast recording and evening networking event all needed some gravitas, so the Versace suit fitted the bill. It is a strong image though and so the light mauve shirt with a white collar softened the look. Purple has been an imperial colour from ancient times, because it was so expensive to create, so it always looks sophisticated.
I chose my black pinstripe Versace double breasted suit with double cuffs and, double pleats, Dale Carnegie corporate badge, Cartier Tank Francaise watch, custom Chester Barrie mauve shirt with white collar and white French Cuffs, purple Etro tie, purple cufflinks, Etro blue and purple pocketsquare, high shine black TLB Mallorca toe cap Oxfords.
Outer wear from Valentino, double breasted camel cashmere coat, beige cashmere scarf, black Borsalino Fedora.
