Apple unveiled the longed upgradation to its yearly iPhone series and AirPods and a cutting-edge new look to the iWatch series, moreover, also unboxed the rugged Apple Watch Ultra for sports enthusiasts on Wednesday at its yearly launch event-- 'Far Out.?
The event launched four iPhones in its 14 series-- iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.?The former two come powered by the last year's A15 bionic chipset, while the Pro models run on the latest A16 Bionic chipset. All four new iPhones will run iOS 16 out-of-the-box. Pre-orders for Apple iPhone 14 start on 09 September 2022 and continue till 16 September 2022, thus when the sale starts. While the iPhone 14 Plus will go on sale on 07 October 2022. The iPhone 14 Pro starts at $999 (roughly Rs. 79,600), while the iPhone 14 Pro Max is priced at the starting of $1,099 (roughly Rs. 87,600); pre-order starts on September 9, and the sale begins on September 16.
The good news is viable that there has been no price hike on any of the models and no rise is expected for the Indian market as well.
iPhone 14 Pro comes with a new 'Pro display with a 6.1-inch display, and iPhone 14 Pro Max comes with a 6.7-inch display, with much thinner borders and a peak HDR brightness of 1600 nits, apart from a peak outdoor brightness of 2000 nits.?Both feature the Apple A16 Bionic SoC, based on a 4nm fabrication process. Adding to the fresh perspectives is the 48-megapixel main camera. These two Pro models feature a new Dynamic Island notch design, that expands to show notifications and activity widgets. They will be available in Space Black, Silver, Gold, and Purple colour variants.?
The iPhone 14 series won't feature physical SIM trays in the US, with only eSIM available in the region. It also comes with the crash detection feature introduced in the Apple Watch Series 8. The iPhone 14 series solves the helpless issue of 'no network' regions through the Emergency SOS feature that aims to increase connectivity to every possible corner of the world through satellite. The other two models, iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus feature a 12-megapixel main camera, with 1.9-micron pixels, f/1.5 aperture, and sensor-shift OIS. There is also a new 12-megapixel TruDepth front-facing camera with autofocus. Both sets of cameras feature a new Photonic Engine, for improved low-light capture. iPhone 14 comes with an OLED display, 1200nits peak brightness, support for Dolby Vision, and five eye-catchy colour options.
Meanwhile, Apple is also expected to launch a new model of its true wireless earphones, the AirPods Pro 2. Likely to succeed the AirPods Pro that made their debut in October 2019, the new earphones are said to feature a similar design, while offering improved active noise cancellation and audio quality. Reports also suggest that the earphones might offer support for MagSafe wireless charging and USB Type-C wired charging. The AirPods Pro 2 has been priced at $249 (roughly Rs. 19,900) with free engraving and will go on pre-order from September 9, thus, will be made available from September 23.
Finally, the Apple Watch Series 8 is likely to feature quite a similar design as last year's Series 7 lineup, according to previous reports. However, this year's models are tipped to feature a new low-power mode, while customers can expect to see a new health monitoring feature in the form of body and skin temperature monitoring.
Apple is also expected to launch a new Apple Watch Pro model, which is said to be a durable, rugged version of its smartwatch for active users, equipped with a titanium body. This model is tipped to feature a larger display than the others along with a new button.
