Far From Free

Far From Free

A palm is popping out of the computer screen. Long and thin fingers are dancing like a crab on the beach. The keyboard is their dancing arena. They are jumping from one letter to the other happily.

Ofir Press, my son illustrated, the image for his last article where he and his collaborators presented their findings. They created a SWE-bench that can resolve real-world Githab issues.

Keep calm if you are not familiar with the vocabulary. Twelve years ago, when Ofir studied at Tel Aviv University, he attended a course about Machine Learning.Professor Lior Wolf announced in the first lesson that we will have a class once every two weeks because there are just eight articles on the topic.

Fortunately, Ofir was fascinated by Machine learning and decided to invest his energy in developing new tools to improve Language Models. Ori, my youngest son, followed his oldest brother in academics.

Last week, I joined them at the? Neural Information Processing Systems conference in Vancouver.

I was the proud mom who watched her kids explain their findings in various research hundreds of times to scholars from around the globe.

I am proud that Ofir and his team created a Free tool for programmers to check their written code. Likely their model is more accurate than companies who sell a similar tool. We spent our family tim in the Vancouver Art Gallery. We paid 35 Canadian Dollars to enjoy a startling exhibition by the indigenous artist,? Shelly Niro, originally from the Six Nations in the Ontario region.

In her work, she expresses her deep feelings about colonialism and cultures in various media.?

We were impressed by her large white-on-black prints depicting powerful magic women.

Unfortunately, many women in the city who would be empowered by Niro’s artworks can not efford the visit to the museum.

Ofir said that his free toll will change the programer work.

We asked ourselves “ How would a free ticket to the museum can change citizen attitude to their city and shape lives in profound ways?

?How free tickets to the museum can empower visitors’ happiness and well-being?
