In every chemist shop this soap can be found beautifully wrapped and boxed and was my go to Christmas gift for my mother (father got Old Spice). Back in the 50's very little was as stylish and affordable.

The company was started by the great grand nephew of the creator of Eau De Cologne in 1806 the name came from the new owners in 1862 and is still available in all good stores.

Today we take for granted good presentation but when you are next in a chemist check out the Roger and Gallet range for a trip back to nostalgia.

You can still buy a beautifully wrapped soap for under ￡5.00 a real treat, in fact I just bought one 50 years on for my mother!
