FANTASTIC FOUR
Twelve members of civil society are nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the President for a term of six years. These nominees, selected on the advice of the Prime Minister, are people who have made significant achievements in the fields of arts, literature, sports,science etc. and their creatives showcase our pride nation’s glorious dharm path.?Out of these nominees, four are from South India.
Dr. Veerendra Heggade is a Dharmadhikari of the ?most divine ?Dharamasthala Temple in Karnataka and is at the forefront of outstanding community service. He took that post at the young age of 20. In his career as an activist and administrator, he has carried the temple heritage to greater heights. Besides lending his services to temple, he also archived a name for lending his services to mankind.?He has been conferred with various prestigious awards. This is all because of his immense contribution to cultural, economic, and social projects he undertook for the development of the society.
Music maestro Ilayaraja (original name Gnanadesikan) has composed over 4000 songs and worked in over 800 films, in a career spanning over four decades. He has enthralled people across generations and his works beautifully reflect many emotions from Annakkili to Sadma. ?He is accredited with setting a trend for film music in South India, by introducing Western musical nuances into songs. He was well acquainted with the range of Tamil folk music prevalent, as he hails from Pannaipuram, a rural belt in TN. ??Apart from showing his dexterity as a composer in Tamil films, he ?also composed ?music for several Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and a few Hindi films as well.
P T Usha needs no introduction to Indian audience. She ?is an inspiration for every Indian and her accomplishments in sports are widely known. Usha, popularly known as the Payyoli Express, ruled track and field events in the 1980s. She has won 11 medals in Asian Games, including four gold in the 1986 Seoul Games. She missed the medal by a whisker in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics when she finished fourth. Her ?work to mentor budding athletes over the last several decades ?is commendable.??
KV Vijayendra Prasad, a prominent screenwriter ?is known for his kreativ works ?for more than 25 films. He is behind many major blockbusters across various film industries such as?Mersal, the?Baahubali?duology as well as?RRR. He has been instrumental in instilling cultural pride and nationalistic spirit through his committed celluloid creations. He also wrote the screenplay for the Jayalalithaa biopic?Thalaivii?starring Kangana Ranaut.
Every accomplishment has led ?these experts ?to where they are today and that’s more than enough to be proud of.??Each goal they ?accomplish/ing ?is worthy of celebration, especially when it leads us closer to our dreams in life. ??
Yes, they helped others each time they can, they made people smile, they learned a lot and grew from their mistakes, They being the light to other peoples’ lives is more than enough reason to be proud of.?This means that they remind people what its like to have hope, faith and most of all, LOVE.?No matter what life throws at them and no matter how difficult things are, they always chose to be resilient and to fight back.?Presence of such eminent personalities at our decision making House is the need of the hour.
