To create a favorable scenario for transformation in an organization, there must be certain types of elements that serve as catalysts for that needed change. Many efforts to be made, and especially in digitization, there must be one that is basic and 4 that support in the form of a logical circuit for it to work.
These 4 domains are without a doubt the fundamental pillars of a company that today is thinking of adopting digitization as part of its new way of operating. However, out of those 4, you have to rely on the talent of those people who will carry out this work.
1. Technology: Today we have IoT, blockchain, artificial intelligence, big data, and countless new technologies that grow and develop at an accelerated rate. The puzzle that is created is that each one of these mentioned technologies, in the end, is very simple to handle. The issue is complicated when trying to integrate with the old and obsolete systems that organizations have. This shows that for a long time the organizations have debts of being up to date in their technological systems.
2. Data: The common denominator of companies is that today they do not have their data under the minimum basic standard and to become digital, good data and analytics are required. Without good data it is almost impossible to find what you want to achieve in terms of digitization and organizations generally know that they do not have in-depth data analysis and derive responsibility in the IT department.
3. Processes: Digitization and reaching this transformation requires an end-to-end mentality. And this means that every process is exposed and ready to be digitized. This involves what is done inside for products and what is done outside for customers. It is a chain that if it does not have that fluidity loses its value.
4. Capacity for organizational change: Here we must bring leadership, teamwork, emotional intelligence, and other elements that allow and support change. About this there is already much written and analyzed that each company must choose its best version to implement that change.
Finally these 4 elements must be supported in something basic that is the TALENT of the people. The lack of understanding of these 4 elements has resulted in failures where time and money have been invested. Without personnel who understand what you want to do, not reaching the digitization objective is the safest thing to do. TALENT must unite these 4 paths and activate them in a harmonic way allowing the necessary focus to transform as we have already said from end to end.
