FanHero Delivers Outstanding Solution To Improve Offering Of New Courses By Higher Education Institutions

FanHero was approached by a Higher Education Institution (HEI) seeking help to ease restrictions on the process of creating new courses for their students.

Currently, the faculty of these institutions design the scope and general guidelines for each course, and an outsourced team of SMEs (Subject Matter Experts—individuals or companies) produces the core course content: curriculum, syllabus, instructional materials, presentations, handouts, assignments, and assessments. This process typically takes 6 to 8 weeks and results in text files that the institution’s team must further refine to produce the final output: PDFs, code for intranet and student portal web pages, materials to be printed, and more.

Current Process

HEIs usually have an Academic Development Team in charge of (1) deciding which new courses will be offered and (2) creating the framework inside whose boundaries the third-party solution team will be working to produce the detailed material.

This process happens in various iterations, usually lasting 6-8 weeks.? The outcome is a list of text documents, validated by the Academic Development Team.

From that point on, several different teams at the HEI are engaged to transform the text documents into a wide set of different outcomes, such as files in different formats, printouts, code (intranet and student portal pages).
