Fan the Flames and the Fire Shaman

Fan the Flames and the Fire Shaman

A while back, I had a coaching session with Andy Cahill, where Fan the Flames Podcast was born. Little did I know that the name for my podcast would become so much more, eventually becoming the name of my company and the main group program I run.?

And now, there is a new part of me coming into being, perhaps something that’s always been there and now discovered like an ancient world.

There was the name, then came the fire walking and now comes the Fire Shaman.?

It was recognised in me during an exploration or co-creation of an event that would include fire, magic and sex. At the time, I saw these as elements or vehicles to enable someone to tap into their desire, goals and wants, and by putting them out there into the fire, they would then be able to set actions and activities to make them happen….how wrong was I.?

As we, Rebecca, Todd and me, contemplated what the experience we were creating might be, we explored elements ourselves, we meditated, breathed deeply and connected physically, and in doing so, something was….awoken, released, and named in me.?

I wish I could tell you exactly what we did and how we did it, but it’s kinda a blur, mixed with memories of fire walking and dreams of the Phoenix flying, and sometimes wondering if it really happened.?

I do remember Rebecca looking at me at one point and smiling, saying oh, you don’t know…you’re the Fire Shaman and at that moment, something new or ancient came into being.?

So what does this even mean? Well, that’s a bloody good question, one to which I’m sure there are multiple answers.?

For now, it’s about a way of seeing the world, a way of being in the world and a way of being with self.?

The self part of it is the feeling of the Fire Shaman, a feeling of power and energy, similar to when I walked across the fires in West Ireland with Lottie as part of my fire walk instructor training, a fire in the blood, a lava coming up through the earth into my being and out through my crown, down to earth once more to begin the cycle again.?

There is a tingling of the senses, causing sight to be a little different, brighter, more vibrant, and that sensation of something just on the edges of this world, perhaps just brushing up against me, causing the hairs on my arms to stand on end.?

Then the being in the world part is so interesting, and it’s like you almost know something. It’s on the tip of your tongue, just on the edges. Perhaps it’s a connection to everything finding its feet. Or tuning into the world from a place of wisdom, that slow, deep breathing, stillness.?

And as I contemplate this way of being and seeing, I wonder what this means for me as a practitioner.?

Does it mean anything or everything??

And do I even need to know??

What I do feel is a new….another way of working. Perhaps it’s like intuition but on steroids, a sensing of what’s at play, what’s held back and what’s to be released. This fits nicely with the ways of the fire, the dancing flames, the heat building and its transformative power to destroy, release and create.?

The Flames process came before the Fire Shaman, and like a lot of things, they are interlinked. The Flames process becomes a way the Fire Shaman can work with you and your fire, enabling it to catch, to spark, to roar.?

I’m not 100% sure what this looks like in practice. Can we ever be sure? But I know I am called to it, and like the hero’s journey, I answer the call and step over the threshold once more.?

And if this resonates with you, and you’d like to explore the way of the Fire Shaman as they Fan your Flames, follow the link, book a time and let’s have a conversation.?
