As mentioned in my first published piece, Excuses.com is not the number one site on the internet even though it’s in everyone’s mind. Why? What is it about excuses that is different from fear and caution?

Your dreams, your goals have a value to you and the blessed few/many in your life. It’s not only important to sustain and push past the things that make us want to quit because it’s hard, but we have to dig deeper to battle the desires to settle for things that will make it easier. A self-bribe to accept defeat for a minor payout is the true downfall of greatness.

How does James Bond turn down millions in order to complete his mission? Because he is true to himself and knows that his mission is greater than any numerical value that stands in the way. He declines the easy way out for what is disguised as a reward. That is the example, of avoiding Self-bribing, this millennial can picture.

Reinvent your self-worth against your own desire to buy-out your dreams. Set yourself above not only the doubters, but the buyers as well. It’s not just tempting to quit, but it’s also tempting to take a payment before you have reached your full potential.

Easy will not be a gambit to find value. Just ask yourself, what is my true value and hold yourself to it.
