Is There Famine In Your Land?

What defines a famine? Famine is defined as extreme scarcity of food, want, a shortage, or hunger.
Today, on this Memorial Day, we remember those who have lost their lives and those who grieve them. We also bring to mind that we are coming to the end of Mental Health Month but it is not the end for those who suffer.
We continue to see famine all over the world.
A shooting in Uvalde, TX resulted in 19 children dead and two adults had their lives taken from them, leaving so many hurting and grieving souls in want of answers.
In hunger for power and dominance, we see war in Ukraine where lives are being lost daily.
And for many, famine has shown up on mental, emotional, and spiritual plains.
There are times of adversity when life does not seem to produce the same fulfillment as it once did and now there is a famine in the land.
The job that we prayed for and couldn’t wait to spring up out of the bed to get to each day has now become...a place of famine.
The celebrated achievement of being elevated to a position of prestige at the same place you were just an unknown a few years ago has now become…a place of famine.

Everything seemed to have been falling into place to your business off the ground. The right people started showing up and prospects for your services seemed to come out of nowhere but now it has become…a place of famine.
The relationship that had such promise, he was like no one you had ever met before, her parents loved you, the children even called you mom/dad, that which caused you to believe in love again has now become...a place of famine.
What was once exciting, fulfilling, and alive has become empty, barren, and dead.
Some of us have experiences in life where the satisfying, rich, abundant life we once rejoiced in becomes a lifeless place of scarcity, lack, and despondency.
I would encourage you to remember that to everything there is a season and a time to every purpose on the earth. What has come…has only come to pass. Everything is transient.
Do not be so extreme in the highs to think they will last forever or so extreme in the lows to forget that they have an expiration date. As each thing comes and reaches its end date…..let it go because it is bringing something new, fresh, and exciting in its place and if you die in the place of famine you will never experience it.
Live and embrace each moment as it transitions from one form to the next bringing new experiences, lessons, people, places, and things that will serve your evolution and growth.
Be encouraged. Namaste.

2 年A lovely way to look at the ebbs and flows of life, James. Nothing stays the same, and we certainly can't stop tyrants from killing people and many other events from happening. So we should focus on what we can control such as the decisions we make.
