We are a rather close-knit family who sees each other every other day for a coffee or a glass of wine. Most weekends are spent together over a proper Namibian braai, and then COVID-19 happened and we are in lock down. What now? Our normal platform to communicate with each other, when we are not together, does not allow for more than 4 people on a call.
This is how Plan A was formulated – Microsoft TEAMS – for those of us who don’t have it downloaded on our devices already, are to download it NOW. Create a group, add all the members, and voila – We did our first social distancing family call – ON TEAMS.
As parents, we are extremely close to our children, and 5 days of not seeing our adult kids or hugging them, is tough, especially that they live in the same city as we do.
So, when the call came over TEAMS and we could all see each other, hear each other, and just spend some significant time together. virtually, my mother heart went bonkers. No matter how your children get, you are always a mother. All of us, no limitations, it rocked my day. (Yes, TEAMS is not without limits, but we were all there.)
TEAMS allows us to add as many family members as we like – not that we are that big a family, but we are just right sized. We can share stories, photos, videos and so much more without a cellular phone running out of storage space.
In this time of COVID-19 Microsoft TEAMS is not only for businesses, it is also for family.
