Family OUT, Community IN

You may have heard about "we are like a family at workplace". Yes, it indeed sounds romantic.?But reality is that if you are not a good fit whether it is because of low performance or misbehavior, you will definitely be out of this game. No offense, that's how businesses work around the world. It's the nature of work. In the aspect of family, if your son/daughter misbehaves, you're not gonna expel them, Right? That's is what called family. It is more tolerant system. Even if conflict is at its highest. You always take care of your children.?

So what to do? We should be community at work rather than family. We need unity with mutual values rather than unrealistic romantism. Those countries, companies even systems who formed proper community model, they succeded. Like example of Canada, Google, NGOs. Communities

  • foster values,
  • enforce rules,
  • more diversity is welcome
  • tolerate some differences, but never let anyone violate people's red lines
  • make you stream in the same direction

To cut it short, businesses are in need of them for healthier workforce, fair competition and foremost for achieving goals faster. In the next articles, we will talk about comparison and steps to form community. Leave your comments to make it better.
