Family Gathering 2024: A Day of Unity and Celebration

On August 3rd, 2024, the Agents of Hope family gathered for a truly special day. Our Family Gathering 2024 Event brought together refugees, sponsors, volunteers, and our team for a day filled with laughter, games, and delicious food. It was more than just an event – it was a celebration of community, creating unforgettable memories together.

A day filled with warmth and connection, where people from all over the world came together, each bringing their own unique stories and dreams. At our Family Gathering, different languages filled the air, but the smiles and laughter were universal. Refugees, sponsors, volunteers, and our team joined hands, not just to celebrate, but to build a sense of belonging. We weren’t just gathering for an event – we were coming together as one family, united by hope and a shared belief in a brighter future.

As the day began, we saw old friends hugging and new friends being made. Children ran around playing games, their laughter echoing through the air. Adults chatted, sharing stories and dreams. It was beautiful to see people who once felt alone now surrounded by a community that cares.

We're proud to announce that Agents of Hope is now an Illinois Welcoming Center. This means we can offer even more support and services to newcomers in our state. As an Illinois Welcoming Center, we'll be able to help more people find their way in their new homes, connect them with important resources, and make sure they feel truly welcome. This is a big step forward in our mission to create a community where everyone can thrive!

As we look back on our Family Gathering Event, we're filled with gratitude and excitement for the future.
