Family Business - Vision of the founder

A country can achieve their liberation with a great leader having a vision for all countrymen. Without a shared vision extraordinary cannot be achieved by mass ordinary. In family business too the vision of the founder is so important. To support and uphold the vision in everyone's heart is crucial and it is not leap service only the focus and control of that vision must be reflected by the action of the company as a whole.

Family business faltered when they deviated from the vision. Steve jobs came back, Howard Schulz came back to protect that originality of that vision.

Many times the founder do not think about his succession and when time is good they neglect to articulate the vision what and how he wanted to do business and more importantly "WHY"

What an how remain alive with the operational process and business portfolio but the "WHY" gets lost in the translation.

Family members must be ruthlessly conditioned around the vision and values of the organization set, believed and practiced by the founder.

Continuous improvement must go on in the process, but values must not be compromised. Some founders may have some wrong values about what is right and wrong that may be corrected by generations come forward.

Let the family remain united around the core values of the founder and progress on innovation and scaling.

Let the diversity of the family members, let the different views of the family members be a strength as oppose to weaknesses.

Let a operating TOR guide how the differences must be addressed how the vision and values will be safeguarded at any cost.

Unity must be preserved keeping the vision at the center.

Slowly the transition towards the corporate culture must start by handholding them and vision and values must work as a guiding principle for the their freedom.
