Your brain is wired to “keep you safe,” preferably relying on known routines and patterns to feel secure. Its default is to switch to autopilot, and it doesn’t want to be bothered with potentially risky or dangerous scenarios. However, clinging to what is familiar doesn’t necessarily lead to greater safety; instead, it can leave you feeling stuck and overwhelmed as the world around you continues to evolve in unpredictable ways.
